Good and Excellent describe different levels of cosmetic wear, not different versions of the phone. At Reloopo, Good means lighter signs of use; Excellent means minimal marks. Compare the price difference for the same model and storage, then check the battery terms separately.

Good vs Excellent at a glance

Grade Appearance Standard minimum battery health*
Acceptable Visible signs of use 80%
Good Lighter cosmetic wear 90%
Excellent Minimal cosmetic wear 95%

*These are the standard grade minimums where stated on the product page, not maximums or a promise of a new battery. Product-specific terms apply: the current iPhone 8 listing specifies a new third-party replacement battery fitted by Reloopo. Excellent remains a refurbished grade.

Where to look for the difference

Start with the parts you see and touch most often: the screen with the display switched off, the frame around the corners and charging port, and the back around the cameras. Compare images taken from similar angles in similar lighting. Reflections can hide a fine mark in one picture and exaggerate it in another.

Good can suit someone who mainly notices the screen while using the phone and plans to add a case. Excellent can be worth considering if visible wear will bother you every day or you prefer a cleaner appearance when giving a refurbished device as a gift. Neither description promises a completely mark-free unit.

About the cover: Condition illustration, not photographs of individually graded devices. Marks are illustrative; their number and position are not a grading specification.

What a useful condition photograph should show

  • The screen switched off under diffuse light, plus an angled view for reflections.
  • The back and all four edges, with closer views of any noticeable marks.
  • The camera area and charging port without a case hiding the surfaces.
  • A clear explanation of whether the pictures show that exact unit or representative stock.

The stockroom photographs supplied for this update show packaging, not a controlled Good-versus-Excellent comparison. We therefore do not assign grades to the devices inside those boxes. If a particular type of mark would change your decision, contact Reloopo before ordering and ask what information is available for your chosen option.

Keep appearance, function and battery separate

A cosmetic grade does not change the original chip, display size, storage capacity or SIM hardware. Reloopo’s grades are sold as functionally checked devices, but cosmetic appearance by itself cannot prove that a camera, microphone or Face ID works. A scratch count is not a functional test report.

The higher standard battery minimum can be another reason to compare grades, but maximum capacity is not a fixed number of hours. Read how battery health affects your choice and the selected product’s battery disclosure. A device may exceed its minimum; do not expect a specific percentage unless it is explicitly stated for that unit.

A simple way to decide

Compare Good and Excellent on the same model and storage. Ask whether the appearance difference will matter once you add your usual case, whether the stated battery difference fits your routine, and what else you could do with the price difference. Someone who spends the day away from a charger may prioritise a battery commitment; someone who photographs products for work may prioritise the camera model instead.

If the saving is important and light wear is acceptable to you, start with Good. If cosmetic details matter and the premium fits your budget, compare Excellent. Choose Acceptable only when you are comfortable with visible use. These are buying judgements, not predictions about a particular unit.

Questions before you buy

Does Excellent mean new or Apple Certified Refurbished?

No. It is Reloopo’s cosmetic grade. The name does not establish Apple certification, a new battery or factory-new packaging.

Can Good have better battery health than the minimum?

Yes. A minimum is a floor, not a fixed reading. Use the commitment on the selected product page rather than expecting one exact figure.

What if the appearance does not match the description?

Keep your order details and take clear photos. Contact support@reloopo.com promptly and follow the returns policy before sending anything back.
