Choose a refurbished iPad around the apps and accessories your study or work requires. Reading PDFs and watching lessons place different demands on a tablet from drawing, large creative projects or complex spreadsheets. Start with your workflow, then compare storage, screen size and the complete cost.

Match the iPad to the task

Main use Priorities Check before buying
Reading, lessons and web research Comfortable screen, compatible apps and reliable Wi-Fi Offline downloads, school sign-in and storage after apps are installed.
Handwritten notes and PDF markup A compatible Apple Pencil and a suitable note-taking app Exact Pencil generation, charging method and whether accessories are included.
Email, documents and video calls Keyboard comfort, microphone and camera, file access The iPad versions of your work apps and your organisation’s sign-in rules.
Drawing and larger creative projects App requirements, local storage and suitable performance Project size, export formats and accessory compatibility.
Desktop-only office workflows Required desktop software and full feature support Whether an iPad can perform your essential task at all.

Two options in Reloopo’s current catalogue

The iPad 8th generation 32GB Wi-Fi is worth considering only after checking app support and storage. A 32GB configuration leaves less room for downloaded lessons, large apps and saved media once the system and your essentials are installed. It may suit a focused reading or streaming role, but it is a restrictive choice for a large offline library.

The iPad Air 11-inch M3 offers a newer platform and larger storage options in the current listing. It supports Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C), sold separately. For note-taking, office documents and creative work, compare the extra cost against the applications and accessories you will actually use. This is a workflow-based recommendation, not a claim from a Reloopo benchmark test.

Work out storage before choosing a price

List what must remain on the iPad: essential apps, class recordings, PDF libraries, downloaded films and active projects. Check how much storage those use on your current device, then allow space for growth and updates. Cloud storage can help, but files needed offline still need room on the device.

For a small web-based workflow, your needs may be modest. If you regularly download video or work on large creative files, compare higher-capacity options. Do not assume an external drive replaces every need for internal app storage.

Budget for the whole setup

Confirm the exact iPad generation before buying a Pencil, keyboard or case. An accessory labelled only “for iPad Air” is not specific enough. The iPad 8th generation supports Apple Pencil 1st generation, while the M3 iPad Air supports Pencil Pro and Pencil USB-C. Apple’s compatibility list is linked below.

Include the cost of a suitable keyboard, Pencil, protective case and any paid apps in your comparison. The current Reloopo M3 listing says charging accessories may vary with stock, so confirm what is supplied. Do not assume everything shown in a lifestyle image or Apple’s original retail specification comes with a refurbished order.

Wi-Fi, cellular and battery

Wi-Fi may be enough at home, school or the office. For use away from those networks, compare the cost and convenience of a phone hotspot with a Wi-Fi + Cellular model and separate data plan. Check the exact regional device and carrier support; a Wi-Fi-only iPad cannot gain built-in cellular service through a software setting.

Read the selected product’s battery terms and our explanation of battery health. Battery-health menu availability differs across iPads. A missing percentage in Settings is not a reliable way to judge a device on its own.

Check that iPadOS can do your essential work

Before replacing a laptop, test the workflow in the iPad version of your app: open a real spreadsheet, export the required file format, join a meeting and check access to shared files. Desktop macros, specialist programs or institutional exam software may require a different device. A faster chip does not remove an operating-system limitation.

Questions before you buy

Which should a student prioritise: storage or appearance?

First meet app and storage needs. Then choose a cosmetic grade you are comfortable with; a cleaner case cannot solve insufficient space.

Is a Pencil included?

Do not assume so. The current M3 iPad Air listing specifies that Pencil and keyboard are sold separately.

Can I use it for all office work?

Only if the iPad versions of your required tools support your workflow. Check with your employer or software provider before relying on it as your sole computer.

Next: compare available iPads, choose a condition grade or ask about a specific configuration.
